Sprocket Privacy Policy (Android)

This Privacy Policy explains how Sprocket (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles information when you use the Android version of the Sprocket app (“Sprocket”, “the app”).
Sprocket is designed to provide calm, step-by-step help with everyday phone tasks, reminders, memory assistance, and simplified explanations.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the app, Sprocket may process:
- Questions and messages you enter or speak
- Reminder titles and schedules
- Saved memory items and notes
- App usage information
- Anonymous device and diagnostic information
- Account identifiers if you choose to sign in
- Purchase entitlement status for premium features
We do NOT collect or store:
- Payment card details
- Passwords
- One-time passcodes (OTPs)
- Banking credentials
The app may warn or block storage of sensitive information if detected.
2. How your data is used
We use information to:
- Provide assistant responses
- Generate reminders and summaries
- Store memory items you explicitly save
- Improve app reliability and performance
- Enforce usage limits and subscription entitlements

3. Third-party services
Sprocket uses third-party providers to operate parts of the service:
- OpenAI – for AI-generated responses
- Firebase (Google) – for authentication, storage, analytics, and infrastructure
- RevenueCat – for subscription and entitlement management
- Google Play Billing – for Android purchases
These providers may process data on our behalf solely to provide app functionality.
4. AI processing
Messages or voice transcripts may be securely sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Sprocket is intended for general assistance only and should not be relied upon for medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
5. Speech, voice, and device features
On Android devices, speech recognition, notifications, and text-to-speech may use Android system services depending on your device settings and permissions.
You may deny permissions, although some features may stop working correctly.
6. Analytics and diagnostics
We may collect limited analytics and crash information to improve reliability and usability.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers.
7. Data storage and security
Data is transmitted using encrypted connections.
Some information may be stored securely using Firebase cloud infrastructure.
We take reasonable steps to protect information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, or maintain account functionality.
You may delete your data within the app where supported.
